History:

Xue grew up in a fairly normal family which consisted of his mother, father, and twin brother Tian. He spent most of his childhood following his family members never really doing anything by himself, not because he couldn't but because he never wanted to do things alone fearing that he might make a mistake.

When Xue was twelve something happened which seemed to really upset his parents, but he didn't seem to notice. His seemed to have been home a lot more than he usually was and Xue was happy that his father was spending more time with their family. However, when he was talking with his brother he found out that their family was in a really tight spot and that father was home more because he lost his job.

It was then that Tian suggested that they get jobs so they can help their parents out. Xue quickly agreed and starting the next day the two went around town helping people out for some money, and eventually they landed a job as shoe shining boys. A few months later their father was able to get another job that paid well, and in the end they two quit their own job and life began to return to normal.

Around this time Xue had focused his time towards school. However, it wasn’t as easy as he thought it’d be. Unlike his brother Tian, Xue was very reserved, quiet, not very athletic, and different. He became a vulnerable target for bullying. Though, he wasn’t much to fight back and all that was happening was kept hidden from his parents and his brother, being concern it might just be troublesome for them.

One day, Xue was waiting for his brother to get out of class as a group of boys approached him. One managed to push him against the wall as they continued to spew out insulting comments at him, such as being stupid and usless. But once his family was inserted amongst the insults, it became enough for Xue to raise his hand and brought his fist into the bully’s face. Yet he submitted to their insults, admitting he is as worthless as they say.
The fight escalated from there, until Tian ran over and broke up the fight. Tian, who were actually acquainted with the bullied, confronted them and threatened saying they should stay away from Xue unless they wanted to get on his bad side. Being scared of the possibilities from those word, they refrained and didn’t bother Xue since.

A few years passed and the two boys were now out of school and living peacefully at their parents. However, one day Tian came bursting into their room as Xue was sleeping and declared that they were going to get a job and eventually get a house of their own. At first Xue was a little reluctant to go but his brother just dragged him out of bed and told him that it was for the best. After looking for what seemed like hours, the two managed to land a job at a little shop down just down street. Xue did more of the simple stuff such as being a delivery boy, while his brother preformed more of the harder work like lifting and moving. He would often sit and watch his brother and a few other workers do their work.

After working for a few months, and with their combined money, Xue and Tian were finally able to afford a house. As they were walking down a street Tian tripped and crashed into a pile of crates. As Tian was apologizing to the store owner Xue noticed that there was a letter tapped to one of the boxes and he called over his brother. Tian picked up the letter and ripped it open despite Xue's objection. As Tian read a faint smile could be seen creeping across his face.

“Say Xue, I think I found our new home.” His brother said as he folded the note and stuffed it in his pocket.

Xue looked at his brother with a surprised expression.

“Wh-what are you talking about?” he said worried. Xue began to wonder what written in the letter.

“Go pack up. We’re leaving tomorrow.” said Tian as he turned around and headed back to their parent's house.

The next morning Xue and Tian packed their bag, said farewell to their parents, and headed to the closest port from their town. When they arrived Tian showed the letter to the head sailor who then escorted them to a brass steam boat. When they entered they were greeted by several other people and families. After a few hours of getting to know everyone a little boy who was looking out the window shouted "We are here mommy! I see the island!" Everyone crowed around the windows as the island came into view. Xue was standing next to his brother who looked like he was about to explode from excitement.

"There is it Xue...," Tian said finally as the boat turned to dock in the old rusty port.
